Chuck SpanglerGrace Memorial Parishioner and former Youth Christian Formation Teacher "O Come to the Altar" Album: Here as in Heaven Artist: Elevation Worship ‘You have heard that it was said to those of ancient times, “You shall not murder”; and “whoever murders shall be liable to judgement.” But I say to you that if you are angry with a brother or sister, you will be liable to judgement; and if you insult a brother or sister, you will be liable to the council; and if you say, “You fool”, you will be liable to the hell of fire. So when you are offering your gift at the altar, if you remember that your brother or sister has something against you, 24 leave your gift there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother or sister, and then come and offer your gift. Elevation Worship is a contemporary worship music band founded in 2010, from Charlotte, NC (Elevation Church). They have recorded six albums…five of which have reached #1 (“For the Honor”-2011, “Nothing is Wasted”-2013, “Wake Up and Wonder”-2014, “Here as in Heaven”–2016, and “There Is a Cloud”-2017). “O Come to the Altar”, sung with passion and conviction by lead singer, Chris Brown, was recorded live at an Elevation Church service with over 5,000 in attendance in November, 2015. "O Come to the Altar" Lyrics: Are you hurting and broken within? Overwhelmed by the weight of your sin? Jesus is calling Have you come to the end of yourself? Do you thirst for a drink from the well? Jesus is calling. O come to the altar. The Father’s arms are open wide. Forgiveness was bought with the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Leave behind your regrets and mistakes…come today there’s no reason to wait. Jesus is calling. Bring your sorrows and trade them for joy…from the ashes a new life is born. Jesus is calling. O come to the altar. The Father’s arms are open wide. Forgiveness was bought with the precious blood of Jesus Christ. O come to the altar. The Father’s arms are open wide. Forgiveness was bought with the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Oh what a Saviour…Isn’t He wonderful…Sing alleluia, Christ is risen. Bow down before Him, for He is Lord of all…Sing alleluia, Christ is risen. Oh what a Saviour…Isn’t He wonderful…Sing alleluia, Christ is risen. Bow down before Him, for He is Lord of all…Sing alleluia, Christ is risen. O come to the altar. The Father’s arms are open wide. Forgiveness was bought with the precious blood of Jesus Christ. O come to the altar. The Father’s arms are open wide. Forgiveness was bought with the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Bear your cross as you wait for the crown…tell the world of the treasure you’ve found.
